Wooden Architecture of Riga
The film tells about historical heritage of wooden buildings, for which Riga is unique on the international scale.
The city, where there might be alongside old and modern materials, changing scales of the streets, attractive plays of light and shade and urban chaos.
The film’s script author, architect Peteris Blums, says: “If the mannered Art Nouveau is the salt of Riga, what are the small wooden houses? Perhaps, they are peppers, which add spice to the area, allow looking at places and compare different principles of forming the city environment.”
