Public Discussion of the First Wording of Amendments to the Riga Territory Plan for 2006 – 2018 Has Started

From 7 January to 17 February, public discussion will take place on the first wording of amendments to the Riga Territory Plan for 2006 – 2018. The first wording of the amendments will be also submitted to institutions for receiving their conclusions. The public discussion meeting will be held at 18:00 on 16.02.2009 in the 1st floor Meeting Hall of the Riga City Council at Rātslaukums 1.

The first wording of the amendments is applied to the following three parts of the Riga Territory Plan for 2006 – 2018: the textual part of the Explanatory Note, the maps of the graphic part – the “Restrictions on Usage of the Main Protective Zones and Other Land Plots on the Scale of 1:10,000”, the “Planned (Allowed) Territory Usage on the Scale of 1:10,000”, the “Plan on Storey Count for Construction on the Scale of 1:10,000” and the Regulations on the Territory Usage and Construction.

Interested persons can view the Riga Territory Plan for 2006-2018 and its amendments, the Riga Development Programme for 2006-2012, the Riga Long-term Development Strategy for the Period up to 2025, the summary on opinions and proposals of residents received in the process of elaborating the first wording of the local government territory plan on the 1st floor of the Riga City Council at Rātslaukums 1. The materials are available at the Riga City Council on workdays from 9.00 to 17.00, as well as on the City Development Department Internet home page www.rdpad.lv.

Every Thursday from 14:00 to 17:00 during the public discussion period, Riga City Council City Development Department specialists will provide consultations and answer the questions of all interested persons. Visitors will also be accepted on Mondays and Thursdays from 14:00 to 18:00 at the Urban Planning Board of the Riga City Council City Development Department at Amatu iela 4.

Residents and other interested persons are invited to participate in the public discussion meeting, which will be held at 18:00 on 16.02.2009 in the 1st floor Meeting Hall of the Riga City Council. During the public discussion period, the Riga City Council City Development Department has also planned meetings and discussions with non-governmental organizations and representatives from the Union of Architects, the Latvian Real Estate Transactions Association Lanīda, the Association of Planners and the Union of Engineers.

Written proposals can be submitted until 17 February 2009 to the 1st floor of the Riga City Council or to the Urban Planning Board of the Riga City Council City Development Department at Amatu iela 4.

During the public discussion period, it will be also possible to see the Environmental Survey Assessment of the Strategic Effect on the Environment, elaborated by Vides Konsultāciju Birojs SIA, and its summary to the amendments to the Riga Territory Plan for 2006-2018.
