On Construction in the City of Riga in June

In June 2007, there have been 354 construction projects approved and accepted at the Riga City Construction Board in total that anticipate the starting of new construction, reconstruction, renovation and engineering works.

In June 354 construction projects have been approved and accepted at the Riga City Construction Board. The largest amount of the approved and accepted construction and engineering projects in June has been in the Zemgale Urban District – 87, in the Vidzeme Urban District – 80, in the Latgale Urban District – 59, in the Northern Region – 54, in the Kurzeme Region – 50, and in the Central Region 24 construction and engineering projects have been approved.

The largest construction projects approved and accepted at the Construction Board in June: the multi-storied social block of flats at 30 Gobas iela, MAXIMA X shop at Akadēmiķa Mstislava Keldiša iela, the multi-storied block of flats at 14/16 Stopiņu iela, the multi-storied block of flats at 61a Murjāņu iela, the Recreational Complex at Ziepniekkalna iela, the Sports Complex and the Administrative building at 8 Dambja iela, reconstruction of the Dziesmu Svētku Estrāde in Mežaparks, the complex of administrative and two multi-storied blocks of flats at 1 Rusova iela and other projects.

The projects approved at the sketch stage: the multifunctional business and residential complex at 36 Krasta iela, the multifunctional business and residential complex at 5 Krasta iela, the complex of residential buildings with commercial areas at u/n Matrožu iela, construction of the office building at 2 Bērzaunes iela, the multi-storied block of flats with office premises at G.Astras iela, the multi-storied block of flats at 41 Raunas iela, the multi-storied block of flats at 52 Stirnu iela, the complex of multi-storied blocks of flats and the Children’s preschool institution complex at 3 and 5 Grenču iela and other projects.

In June the Riga City Construction Board has received 263 confirmation cards to perform simplified renovation/reconstruction, of these 211 applications have been received from private persons and 52 from legal entities. In June the Riga City Construction Inspectorate has issued 168 construction permits: in the Vidzeme Urban District – 27, in the Zemgale Urban District – 19, the same amount also in the Latgale Urban District and the Northern Region, in the Kurzeme Region – 6 and in the Central Region – 5 construction permits. 72 construction permits have been issued to arrange engineering structures.

In June 71 construction facilities have been commissioned in Riga. The largest propotion of the commissioned facilities has been in the Vidzeme Urban District – 15, in the Zemgale Urban District – 13, in the Latgale Urban District – 9, the same amount in the Northern Region, in the Central Region – 10, in the Kurzeme Region 3 facilities. Out of the commissioned facilities, 12 are engineering networks.

In June the following facilities have been commissioned: the multi-storied blocks of flats in Imanta, at 11 Kleistu iela, Building 1, the office and residential building at 59 Slokas iela, the Decoration Materials Shop at 63a Ventspils iela, as well as other construction facilities.

According to the currently available information on non-observation of the construction regulations, i.e. starting the unauthorized construction and deviations from the approved projects, 18 administrative protocols have been drawn in June, the Administrative Commission has imposed penalties in the amount of LVL 50 – 5,000.

The largest penalty of LVL 4,000 has been imposed for the unauthorized demolition of the building anticipated for reconstruction at 40c Kalnciema iela. A fine in the amount of LVL 3,000 was imposed for the unauthorized construction of the foundation during the period, when operation of the construction permit was suspended, at 20 Dārza iela. Similarly a large penalty was imposed for the unauthorized construction without the accepted construction permit at 3 Aplokciema iela. A penalty in the amount of LVL 2,500 was imposed for the unauthorized re-planning of the premises without the accepted project and the construction permit at 11 Vaļņu iela. A penalty of LVL 2,000 was imposed for the unauthorized construction works during the period, when the construction permit was suspended, at u/n Berģu iela.
