The Riga City Council City Development Department has announced the first stage of public discussion of amendments to the graphic part of the Riga City Council binding regulations No. 38: “Regulations on Usage and Construction of the Riga Historical Centre and its Protection Zone Territory” from 12 August till 10 September.

The aim of the amendments is, by considering public interests, to supplement and particularize the graphic part of the Riga historical centre and its protection zone territory planning, by correcting the planned (allowed) usage and basic conditions of construction, as well as to eliminate technical inaccuracies and to include the required supplements.

The interested parties can study planning of Riga’s historical centre and its protection zone territory and amendments introduced to it, the Riga territory planning for 2006 – 2018, the Riga development programme for 2006-2012 in the Riga City Council Entrance Hall on the 1st Floor at 1 Rātslaukums on weekdays from 9.00 to 17.00. Proposals for elaborating amendments can be put into the corresponding box located next to the stands with the planning materials. During the public discussion the information will be also available on the Riga City Council City Development Department webpage www.rdpad.lv in the Public Discussions section and https://www.rdpad.lv/rvc.

During the public discussion, every Thursday from 14.00 to 17.00, the Riga City Council specialists will provide consultations and reply to questions of residents in the Riga City Council Entrance Hall on the 1st Floor at 1 Rātslaukums.

Visitors will be also accepted at the Urban Planning Board of the City Development Department on Mondays and Thursdays from 14.00 to 18.00. Written offers can be submitted to the Urban Planning Board of the City Development Department of the Riga City Council at 4 Amatu iela, Riga, LV-1050, from 12 August till 10 September 2008.

The public discussion meeting will be held at 17:30 on 3 September 2008 in the Riga City Council Assembly Hall on the 1st Floor at 1 Rātslaukums.

When the first stage of the public discussion is over, Riga’s historical centre and the planned (allowed) usage of the protection zone territory will be elaborated, basic conditions of construction, the detailed planned (allowed) usage of the territory and the historical heritage retention and development plan with amendments in the first version, which the interested parties can study and, if required, provide proposals during the second stage of the public discussion.
